Mandukya Upanishad, Verse 7 (Part 3): The world of names and forms is resolved in Self through understanding. “Resolved” doesn't mean world is contained within it like water in a pot, but like ice structures that are nothing but water appearing in different forms. Self is the material cause of everything, so don't look for it as one object inside the world. “Peaceful” means no second thing can complete, threaten, or limit you – not a calm mental state, since both disturbance and calm exist because of Ātman. You cannot get more auspicious than “I am limitless.” Non-duality is arrived at through cognitive knowledge that everything depends on awareness, the only independently real; duality is not contradicted but resolved. It is called “fourth” (turiya) only because it is pointed to after the three states, yet it never comes or goes. Īśvara is the cause that transforms (you don't find milk in cheese), while awareness is vivarta – appearing as many without undergoing change, proven by the fact that if it changed you could never relate to it.
