19. Logic of Enlightenment | Isolating Awareness | Anvaya-Vyatireka | Vivekachudamani – Verse 67, Part 2

Summary:

Vivekachudamani, Verse 67 – Part 2: Jñānam is not knowledge of something, but pure Consciousness – the non-objectifiable, self-revealing awareness (svayam-prakāśa) in which all knowing occurs. It is the invariable, unchanging presence illuminating every condition of the relative knower (pramātā). Anantam word negates all temporal, spatial, and object-based limitations you might attribute onto satyam-jnanam. Golden rule: Anything perceived, changing, or dependent is not limitless. The relative knower (ahaṃkāra) shifts identity across waking, dream, and deep sleep states, while Awareness remains the constant, non-interfering illuminator throughout. Objections of “multiple awarenesses” stem from mistaking mind for Awareness. Attributes never stick to Awareness, proving it is one, formless, and attributeless.

Vivekachudamani – Verse 67: What is Consciousness?

satyaṁ jñānam anantaṁ brahma
viśuddhaṁ paraṁ svataḥ siddhaṁ
nitya ānanda eka rasaṁ pratyak
abhinnaṁ nirantaraṁ jayati (225, Alt 227)

Brahman which is defined as existence, knowledge and limitless – is free from impurities, beyond māyā, self-evident, happiness not bound by time or degree, and is always available non-separate from oneself.

Notes for this session are under Verse 67 – in lesson 18.
