   • Simple vowels: a, ā, i, ī, u, ū, ṛ, ṝ, ḷ,
   • Complex vowels/diphthongs: e, ai, o, au
   • Velar/Throat consonants: ka, kha, ga, gha, ṅa
   • Palatal consonants: ca, cha, ja, jha, ña
